I. How to Choose the Size of Laminating Film?

When using laminating film, users often focus on questions like, "100mic or 150mic?" and "Glossy or matte?" However, a more easily overlooked factor that truly determines the user experience is size. Truly professional lamination protects not only the paper but also the overall user experience.

Laminating film is essentially: PET base layer + EVA hot melt adhesive layer.

During the lamination process, the EVA adhesive layer melts upon heating, requiring a complete heat-pressed bond between the films. Therefore, the actual sealing effect comes not from the paper itself, but from the pre-existing heat-sealing area at the edges. This is why the industry typically allows approximately 6-10mm for the sealing edge.

Laminating film size is never about "wrapping the paper," but about "establishing the sealing structure."

Different sizes correspond to:

• Different usage scenarios

• Different display logics

• Different sealing structures

II. Why are more and more customers choosing "custom sizes"?

In practical use, some special sizes don't have perfectly corresponding lamination specifications. Therefore, many users adopt the approach of "laminating a large size first, then cutting."

While this method is flexible, it's not ideal for high-quality finished products. Truly professional lamination goes beyond simply "sealing," encompassing: harmonious edge proportions, stable heat sealing, long-term stability without curling, and a more aesthetically pleasing finish.

Standard sizes are important, but as applications become increasingly specialized, more and more customers are realizing that what truly impacts efficiency is "scenario matching." For example:

• Irregular teaching cards

• Long strip labels

• Display tags

• DIY cutting

• Corporate-specific specifications

Relying solely on "cutting small sheets from large films" not only wastes materials but also easily leads to problems such as uneven edges, unstable heat sealing, machine jams, and low efficiency in secondary cutting.

Therefore, more and more companies are now inclined to customize widths, lengths, sealing structures, and roll specifications. Especially in automated and mass production scenarios, size itself is part of efficiency.
