On the stage of life, unexpected events are like unexpected storms, instantly shattering the calm. However, if we master first aid knowledge, we can take the right measures before professional rescue arrives, greatly reducing the risk of casualties. Often, the first rescuer is not the ambulance, but you and me by our side.
On August 5th, staff members from Yixing 120 Emergency Center came to our company to conduct “First Aid Knowledge Popularization and Training” for our employees and college students during the summer vacation.
Emergency rescue is a race against time and a demonstration of awe and respect for life. This training incorporates practical exercises to enable everyone not only to “understand” but also to “do”.
1.Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
This is a key first aid skill. The staff explained to everyone what cardiopulmonary resuscitation is? Its applicable scenarios, and the model is used to guide everyone on standards, operation procedures and precautions.
2.Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
An automated external defibrillator is a portable first aid device that can be used by non-professionals. The staff members popularized the common areas and places where AEDs are used, demonstrated the standard operation procedures and precautions, and guided everyone to operate them in groups.
3.Heimlich Maneuver
In our daily life and work, we often encounter emergency situations of airway obstruction caused by foreign objects (such as choking). The Heimlich maneuver is one of the most effective methods for on-site rescue of choking individuals. Under the guidance of the staff, everyone paired up in pairs to simulate scenarios, learning the operation mnemonic, operation steps, and flexible methods for different groups of people.
The company has created a working atmosphere where “everyone understands first aid and can handle emergencies everywhere” through a series of safety trainings, building a safety barrier for those around them.
Young college students are the hopeful force of society. Mastering first aid skills is a responsibility and commitment. When their peers, family members or passers-by need them, they can step forward and convey a sense of social responsibility, becoming a warm-hearted young force.
First aid training is about learning skills and safeguarding lives. In emergency situations, people who have received first aid training are more psychologically stable and can calmly analyze and take action. If everyone possesses basic first aid skills, society will have more “civilian first aiders”, which will greatly enhance the level of public safety.
